Career Panel
-Charlie
Notis, Freese-Notis; Chris Maiers, ABC5; Rich Kiney, NWS DMX; and Jon
Hobbs and Dr. Gutowski, ISU came to speak about their respective careers
in meteorology. Students were able to interact with them and ask
questions.
National AMS Membership
-Join or renew your National
AMS membership if you haven't done so already. Go to www.ametsoc.org
to register.
Treasurer Update - Lisa Stewart
-Currently we have a little over $1800 in our account.
-Karen received a $10 Target gift card for selling the most number of calendars.
-We have gotten money from
the College of LAS to reimburse people for some of the NWA conference!
However, it will take a while to get the money so you probably won't
get reimbursed until the end of the year.
Social Chair Update - Jesse Wartman
-The ISU AMS Picnic will be held on Saturday, April 28th at Brookside Park in one of the shelters from 5 to7 p.m.
-Our intramural softball
team won their first prelim game! The next game is this Thursday
at 5:15 p.m. at the field across the road from Jack Trice Stadium.

Historian Update - Jeff Edmondson
-New pictures are up on the bulletin board!
-If you have any pictures, give them to Jeff (historian.isuams@iastate.edu).
-You
may pick up old pictures from the envelope in the map room.
Academic Chair Update - Kaj Johnson O'Mara
-Let
Kaj or section leader know if you're not passing a class and need
help.
Cy's Eyes Update - Kaj Johnson O'Mara and Scott Lincoln
-No show tonight due to projected set construction.
-We have seven shows left for the school year.
-Things are going well but we can always use more people!
-We will be looking for
Producers for next year so be thinking about someone you would like
to nominate.
WxChallenge Update - Jayson Prentice
-Our current city is Rapid City, SD.
-Atlantic City results:
Dr. Gallus, Jon Hobbs, Andrew Ansorge and Jayson Prentice were the top forecasters in their categories.
-Our team is 10th overall
Gallus, Prentice, Schaffer, Hobbs and
Ansorge are our top 5 forecasters
Iowa Forecast Contest - Jon Hobbs
-Bad news: The top forecaster for the past three periods was the MOS.
-Good news: All of the
human forecasters are on pace to compete in final tournament.
Apparel and Window Clings
-The screen printing on the t-shirts will be white, and you can pick any color shirt that you want on the color swatch. Cost of the t-shirts is $12. Orders are due NEXT Monday, April 2nd.
-Window
clings are in the process on being ordered.
Spring Break Trip
-The chapter voted to partially reimburse the drivers $250 for gas money.
-Give
your receipts to Lisa if you drove.
Ham Radio Licensing - Jayson Prentice
-Test will be April 28th at 9:30 a.m.
-Test will be on campus.

PWSE Taking the Road Less Traveled - Rachel Butterworth
-Every fall and spring the Program for Women in Science and Engineering puts on a career conference for girls in middle and high school.
-Rachel would like some

to lead on April 5th, 12th and 19th
from 1-2 p.m. If you would like to help out, email her at secretary.isuams@iastate.edu.
Increasing university-wide severe weather awareness

Elementary School Talks
-This is where we go into schools for 45 minutes to talk about severe weather and what to do/what not to do.

Cub Scout Talk
-A Cub Scout group would like someone to come in and talk about severe weather.

College of Business Severe Weather and Emergency Preparedness
-This will take place on Wednesday, March 28th 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Spotter Training
-Basic spotter training will be THIS Wednesday, March 28th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Oak Room of the Memorial Union
-Advanced spotter training
will take place on Thursday, April 12th at 7 p.m. in Agronomy
2050.
