About Me

I currently am a Senior in Meteorology going into my third year here at Iowa State University. I am 20 years old and very fortuante to be in the position I am in. My love of weather all started with my family in particular my Dad who was fascinated by severe weather. After watching numerous storms with him and going through the tornado warning experiences I became fascinated by it too.

I grew up in Cedar Rapids, IA, one the only large cities in the state of Iowa. I went to high school at John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids where I took many classes that prepped me for the course work here at Iowa State. I took calculus, physics, chemistry, and a meteorology course all in high school which pushed me into the position I am in now, a Senior in meteorology that has only been here for two years. My goal is not to fly through the program, but to get to the real meat of the program, the senior level synoptic classes.

I currently work at Culvers Frozen Custard Butterburgers which happens to be my very first job. I get the pleasure of preparing and cooking food for the hungry customer in a timely and efficient manner while keeping quality in mind. I hope to get away from Culvers this fall where I can hopefully find a job with either the department or some on-campus job that is not food based.

As for my free time I enjoy playing my XBOX 360 either playing Halo 3 or Call of Duty World at War. I currently have a golf pass for Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames. Two other friends and I plan going out and golfing as much as we can. I played golf for four years in high school so it is really nice to get back into that sport again. I also enjoy kicking it back hanging with my friends here at Freddy 41.
