Educational Goal Summary:

The following list is all of the courses being taken at Iowa State University during my four years here. Along with the courses is a short sentence that explains why each course is being taken.


Fall 2005:

Math 165 Calc I (4 credits): Meteorology requirement, LAS Math Discipline requirement, needed for meteorology in general.

Engl 104 Fresh Comp (3 credits): LAS Basic Education requirement.

Chem 177 Gen Chem (4 credits): Meteorology requirement, LAS Natural Sciences requirement.

Chem 177L lab (1 credit): See Chem 177 above. First semester chemistry lab required by Meteorology department.

Mteor 111 Syn. Applic. (1 credit): Meteorology requirement. Provides introduction to nomenclature, maps, etc. used by meteorologists.

Mteor 206 Intro Mteor (3 credits): Meteorology requirement. Introduction to basic meteorological principles.

US T 336 Global Careers and China (3 credits): Class looks at the global career opportunities in China and the culture and history of the country. The class was followed up by a two week study abroad trip to Shanghai, Beijing, and Dunhuang.

Meteorology 227 Computational Meteorology (3 credits): Meteorology requirement. Introduction to FORTran 90.

Mteor 201 Orientation (R credit): Meteorology requirement. Looks at opportunities and careers in meteorology.
