There are many education goals I wish to accomplish at Iowa State University. The first goal is to achieve a bachelor's degree in meteorology. I will be taking the standard courses in meteorology, but in addition to the standard meteorology courses, I will pursue a minor in business. The minor will focus on financial accounting, management of organizations, principles of finance, management of information services, principles of marketing, production/operations management, and business logistics. This will be highly useful in a competitive marketplace, where daily weather changes can have a major impact on commodities market. While I am here, I will strive to develop a professional approach to meteorological problems, and try to enhance my computer application skills. Outside of classes, I will also read several books on other computer programming skills. This will be done mainly because I simply cannot fit a computer science minor, or several other computer classes in with an already cramped class schedule. I will use these applications in several ways and post future examples of my work onto the main portfolio page. The combination of a bachelor's degree in meteorology and a minor in business will lead to a very strong, professional portfolio.
