Chapter 6.2 Absorption and Emission by molecules
There are two other ways in which an atom or molecule can absorb or emit ER:
- Photochemical Reaction- photon splits apart a molecule (if energetic enough). O2 + hn = O + O (for l < 0.2424 mm)

- Photoionization- photon splits electron(s) from molecule. (for l < 0.1 mm)
