Bust day for the Twistex team, but after the previous two days of non-stop storms, we didn't so much mind a bust. We started the day at the Best Western in Hays, KS and headed north toward a target of Grand Island, NE. Once we arrived, we ate dinner and waited a few hours for the storms to initiate, but nothing every formed in our area. We repositioned to Aurora, and tossed around a football for a while. A bit later, once we realized it would be a bust, we went out to a gravel road and Verne Carlson did a test flight with his dropsonde aircraft. It was entertaining. Toward evening we traveled to our hotel in Lincoln, NE
