Week 8 - Q-vectors

Remember - Q vectors are a way to avoid the complications of having thermal advection oppose vorticity advection. Q-vector convergence is where one would expect upward motion. Some forecasters prefer to look at F-vectors, which are computed in the same way Q-vectors are, except observed winds are used instead of geostrophic winds. Questions remain, however, about the validity of this approach.
